Cybersecurity: a sector more and more popular with young people

It’s no longer a secret; IT security is a sector that is overheating, and French companies are struggling to recruit enough talent. That’s why we wanted to take on a intern, Olivier, in order to introduce the whole range of jobs related to cybersecurity.

Olivier is a 14 year old teenager, student in the 9th grade at the middle school. He chose IT-Gnosis for his 5-day discovery internship - 5 days during which he discovered the ins and outs of computer security. But young people like Olivier are the future of this market. Throughout this week, Olivier was able to discover life in a company and to become familiar with cybersecurity. under different aspects: business development, communication, business management.

On the last day of his internship, Olivier gave a brief interview to IT-Gnosis where he explains his interest in IT security. Hello Olivier! Why did you choose to do your internship at IT-Gnosis? “I chose to do my internship at IT-Gnosis to understand how IT security works, because I plan a career in this sector”.

What exactly do you like about this sector?

“I’ve been attracted to computing since I was a child. My father works as an Product Owner Audiovisuel at the RATP. I’ve always seen him work since I was 6 years old and I really like it."

What job would you like to do in the future?

“I don’t have a clear idea of what my future job will be yet. But what I know is that I want to be in the technical field, working on computers.”

What are your passions?

“I like to be on my computer to play with my friends, and watch Youtube tutorials to, for example, learn how to mount or dismount PCs."

You have learned a lot of things since the beginning of your internship, what do you mainly remember?

“This internship helped me to better understand some concepts. For example, malware - I knew the word, but didn’t really know what it meant."

Are you satisfied with your internship at IT-Gnosis? What did you like most or least?

“I liked everything! But what I liked the most was being able to interview Wassim Trojet from ESIGELEC school. It allowed me to be in contact with a professional, to be in the action.”

Thanks to Wassim Trojet for his availability and of course, to Olivier for his interest and professionalism!
